Cloud (recommended)
Software as a service
We offer nordicMEDiVA as an always-on, continuously updated SaaS in a HIPAA-compliant cloud environment, doing the heavy lifting so you can focus on business priorities. The cloud option requires minimal involvement from your local support staff, such as IT, as we handle compliance and configuration management.
• Reduced operational, IT maintenance, and hardware costs.
• Built-in security and compliance in a HIPAA-compliant environment. Medical data is transferred over a secure and encrypted network.
• Benefit from the latest product features at all times with automatic updates.
• Hosted in a data center in the US.
• No difference in end-user experience compared to on-premise installation.
-
On-premise
Self-managed
You host nordicMEDiVA on your own infrastructure. Hosting on your own infrastructure requires necessary internal resources and technical expertise to implement, run, and maintain nordicMEDiVA yourself effectively.
• Flexible, self-managed infrastructure.
• Medical data is contained within the hospital-owned network and physical premises.
When to consider cloud vs on-premise
-
Cloud (recommended)
Software as a service
The cloud option is the best fit for most healthcare organizations in the US.
Choose cloud to:
• Eliminate manual upgrades and software maintenance, reducing your total cost of ownership.
• Get faster software and security updates.
-
On-premise
Self-managed
We recommend the cloud option for most of our US customers. However, if you have a business requirement that prevents you from moving to the cloud, a deployment in your local data center is possible.
Choose on-premise if:
• You have an IT team with the capacity and experience with the management of Linux-based server applications.
• You are able to install a physical server in your data center or can provide a server running at least Ubuntu 22.04 with GPU access.
Data security
-
All patient data is securely located either in PACS or the nordicMEDiVA server. No data is transferred to reading stations or client PC for an extra layer of security.
-
The nordicMEDiVA platform uses the latest in secure encryption technologies to encrypt data sent between nordicMEDiVA and the client’s server.
-
An audit log is kept to track which users had access to which data and at what time.
-
Any user doing any action in nordicMEDiVA has to be authenticated. User profiles are administered by a system admin or through the hospital’s Entra ID/Active Directory.
