Task-based fMRI
Welcome to our bi-weekly insights letter, where we keep you in the loop on the latest developments, exciting milestones, and progress in creating our cutting-edge software. We appreciate your continued support and are thrilled to share our journey with you. Here's a snapshot of what's been happening:
Important regulatory notice:
This newsletter reflects our current development plans for nordicMEDiVA. Some options and features displayed are pending 510(k) submission and may not be available for sale in the United States

Here's what to look forward to with our new task-based fMRI analysis module.
Feature Spotlight
Powerful automatic pre-processing
Our automated pipeline contains:
Automatic noise thresholding (Otsu)
Spatial smoothing using a 2D or 3D Gaussian filter
Temporal filtering (Butterworth filter) (de-trending and de-spiking)
Integration of nordicAktiva paradigms and ability to add paradigms manually
GLM BOLD analysis

Feature Spotlight
Intensity curves and contrasts at your fingertips
Perform quality control with ease. View paradigm designs on top of time-intensity curves by placing as many regions of interest as you like. Compare images processed with different settings to gain confidence in your analysis.
Feature Spotlight
No limits on overlays
Overlay as many t-maps as you need at once, and set the color palettes according to your preferences.
Feature Spotlight
Flexible views
Customize your visualization preferences. Choose from 7 palettes and 7 solid colors, or add your custom color options. Adjust thresholds and cluster sizes for each contrast shown, to clean up your data. With the "toggle visibility" action, easily select the contrasts you wish to see.

Feature Spotlight
Easy access to processing steps and settings
We value accessibility and transparency just as much as automation. That's why we provide a direct link to processing steps, queue details, and configured DICOM nodes. This feature allows you to view or modify parameters and reprocess data swiftly if required. Reprocessed data will be available in the Viewer right away when the processing is done, without additional actions needed.

🤫 Resting-state fMRI
A question we are frequently asked is "What is your plan for resting state fMRI?"
While this module is still in the works and its scope of first release is subject to changes, we aim to incorporate:
Seed-based correlation analysis of resting-state data using a manually input seed location or using task-based results as a guide for seed placement
A dedicated module for cerebrovascular reactivity to assess the tissue’s response to hemodynamic changes and to assess the trustworthiness of the fMRI data (also usable for tb-fMRI)
Automated pre-processing steps common to tb-fMRI
